ArtsUnited Features Laura Hardesty Photo "Lathe" by Laura Hardesty ArtsUnited is pleased to feature the photography of local artist Laura Hardesty in a solo exhibit at the Stonewall Library and Archives from April 7 through May 2, 2008. The gallery is located at 1717 N. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. The exhibit opens with a reception to meet the artist from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 7th. Refreshments will be served. Laura Hardesty began taking pictures in high school in California. Throughout the changing passions in her life, acting, writing, computers, web design, and recently earning two Bachelor Degrees, photography has been a constant and her first love. Just as her interest seem at odds with each other, Laura's subjects are diverse and evolving, from the soft and colorful nature photography to her current immersion into the gritty hard textures of industrial subjects. The image "Lathe," won her Second Prize in the Broward Art Guild's 57th Anniversary Exhibition. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
